Despite facing significant challenges, including childhood trauma and ongoing mental health struggles, she has transformed her experiences into powerful, immersive art. Kusama’s use of repetitive patterns, especially her iconic polka dots, and her creation of infinity rooms reflect her quest to represent the infinite and the self-obliteration she felt during her hallucinations12. Her ability to turn personal pain into universally resonant art is a testament to the healing power of creativity.
